Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work Musidora Depicting a female nude with a red drapery seated natural setting. by Rembrandt Peale for USD 6,400.00 (€ 6,056.02). This price was achieved in the auction Autumn Americana Collections | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rembrandt Peale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Equestrian Portrait of George Washington in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 1,071,500.00 (€ 791,475.85).
