In November 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Retrato De Los Niños Andrea Y Lorenzo Villaseñor by Remedios Varo. The »bidding war« ended at USD 518,500.00 (€ 398,539.58), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Remedios Varo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 6,186,800.00 (€ 5,508,681.33).

Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Retrato De Los Niños Andrea Y Lorenzo Villaseñor von Remedios Varo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 518.500,00 (€ 398.539,58) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Remedios Varo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.186.800,00 (€ 5.508.681,33).
