Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Boating Return From Fishing by Ren Xun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 23,600.00 (€ 2,677.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ren Xun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Phoenix in October 2011 with an auction result of HKD 740,000.00 (€ 68,338.71).
