Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flora by René Portocarrero was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,039.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by René Portocarrero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paisaje de La Habana in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 295,500.00 (€ 279,353.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Flora von René Portocarrero kam im November 2011 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.039,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von René Portocarrero erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paisaje de La Habana im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 295.500,00 (€ 279.353,37).
