Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Reuben Nakian could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Study changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,591.93) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Reuben Nakian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of Marcel Duchamp in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 26,562.50 (€ 23,533.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Reuben Nakian konnte im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Study für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.591,93) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Reuben Nakian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of Marcel Duchamp im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 26.562,50 (€ 23.533,71).
