Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Battle of the Nile: Attack at Sunset; At 10 O'Clock at Night; Near Midnight; and On the Ensuing Morning by Robert Dodd. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,511.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Dodd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Greenland Whale Fishery in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 88,800.00 (€ 131,870.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Battle of the Nile: Attack at Sunset; At 10 O'Clock at Night; Near Midnight; and On the Ensuing Morning von Robert Dodd zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.511,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Dodd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Greenland Whale Fishery im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 88.800,00 (€ 131.870,78).
