Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cityscape With A Fortified Entrance To A Town On A River by Roelof Jansz van Vries was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,381.65). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roelof Jansz van Vries achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Wooded River Landscape With Fishermen In A Boat And Hunters On A Track, A Town Beyond in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 60,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cityscape With A Fortified Entrance To A Town On A River von Roelof Jansz van Vries im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.381,65) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roelof Jansz van Vries erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Wooded River Landscape With Fishermen In A Boat And Hunters On A Track, A Town Beyond im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 60.250,00.
