Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Waves breaking onto a rocky beach at sunset by Roger de la Corbière. The price achieved of GBP 70.50 (€ 110.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25.00 – 200.00. Admittedly, works by Roger de la Corbière have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Au coucher du soleil, St. Jacut in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 470.00 (€ 749.67).

Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waves breaking onto a rocky beach at sunset von Roger de la Corbière zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 70,50 (€ 110,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25,00 – 200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roger de la Corbière auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Au coucher du soleil, St. Jacut im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 470,00 (€ 749,67).
