Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Butler school by Ronald Searle. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,774.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ronald Searle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Back To School' in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,657.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Butler school von Ronald Searle zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.774,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ronald Searle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Back To School' im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.657,85).
