This artwork by Ronald Searle achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2008. In the Children's & Illustrated Books & Original Illustrations auction, the work The Angel of Inspiration sold for GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,100.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ronald Searle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Back To School' in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,657.85).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ronald Searle erzielte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Children's & Illustrated Books & Original Illustrations wurde die Arbeit The Angel of Inspiration für GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.100,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ronald Searle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Back To School' im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.657,85).
