Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art and Orientalist Art, which included the work Monarchs of the Forest by Rosa Bonheur. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 206,500.00 (€ 162,829.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rosa Bonheur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Roi de la forêt, which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 607,500.00 (€ 540,672.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art and Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Monarchs of the Forest von Rosa Bonheur zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 206.500,00 (€ 162.829,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Rosa Bonheur mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Roi de la forêt beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 607.500,00 (€ 540.672,84) versteigert wurde.
