The work Mujer by Rufino Tamayo was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in November 2015. The »bidding war« ended at USD 245,000.00 (€ 231,963.64), 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rufino Tamayo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work America in November 2008 with an auction result of USD 6,802,500.00 (€ 5,358,830.94).

Die Arbeit Mujer von Rufino Tamayo wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 245.000,00 (€ 231.963,64) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rufino Tamayo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit America im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.802.500,00 (€ 5.358.830,94).
