This artwork by Sadequain achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Composition sold for USD 137,500.00 (€ 122,461.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sadequain; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Qalandar sold at auction in September 2015 with the realized price of USD 173,000.00 (€ 154,990.15).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sadequain erzielte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Composition für USD 137.500,00 (€ 122.461,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sadequain; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Qalandar im September 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 173.000,00 (€ 154.990,15).
