Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in New York held the auction Sporting Art, which included the work Full Cry: Taking the Fence by Samuel Alken Junior. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 13,145.00 (€ 14,075.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Samuel Alken Junior have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Leaving The Kennel; And Full Cry in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 109,000.00 (€ 70,015.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Sporting Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Full Cry: Taking the Fence von Samuel Alken Junior zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 13.145,00 (€ 14.075,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel Alken Junior auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Leaving The Kennel; And Full Cry im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 109.000,00 (€ 70.015,42).
