In December 2001 Christies in London held the auction OBJECTS OF VERTU AND MINIATURES, which included the work A gentleman believed to be James Wilton, facing right in a double-breasted coat, curly hair by Samuel Andrews. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 376.00 (€ 614.33), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Andrews achieve.
