Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work A clipper in full sail by Samuel John Milton Brown for GBP 187.50 (€ 239.04). This price was achieved in the auction The Sunday Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel John Milton Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Britain's empire watch dog"; and "Britain's old time pride and glory" - H.M.S. Victory (illustrated) in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,002.26).
