Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Logging by Samuel Joseph Clark. The price achieved of GBP 1,656.75 (€ 2,594.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel Joseph Clark - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A logger and a gentleman conversing by a ford, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,479.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Logging von Samuel Joseph Clark zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.656,75 (€ 2.594,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Samuel Joseph Clark mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A logger and a gentleman conversing by a ford beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.479,18) versteigert wurde.
