In October 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work A trompe-l'oeil still life with a parrot on a book, figs, a portrait miniature of a turbaned man, a navigational chart, a comb and a magnifying glass on a tabletop by Sebastiano Lazzari. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,500.00 (€ 27,692.67), 57% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sebastiano Lazzari; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Pair Of Trompe L'Oeil Still Lifes sold at auction in January 2009 with the realized price of USD 68,500.00 (€ 53,498.91).

Im Oktober 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A trompe-l'oeil still life with a parrot on a book, figs, a portrait miniature of a turbaned man, a navigational chart, a comb and a magnifying glass on a tabletop von Sebastiano Lazzari zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.500,00 (€ 27.692,67) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sebastiano Lazzari; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Pair Of Trompe L'Oeil Still Lifes im Januar 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 68.500,00 (€ 53.498,91).
