Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seeing and Skipping by Shara Hughes was auctioned at Christies in London in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 377,562.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Shara Hughes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spins from Swiss in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,940,000.00 (€ 2,739,726.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seeing and Skipping von Shara Hughes kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 377.562,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shara Hughes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spins from Swiss im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.940.000,00 (€ 2.739.726,03).
