A top price for Sidney Harold Meteyard - as previously expected
In November 2004 Christies in London held the auction Important British Art, which included the work Saint Cecilia by Sidney Harold Meteyard. The price achieved of GBP 59,750.00 (€ 85,950.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Saint Cecilia is the most expensive artwork by Sidney Harold Meteyard that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Cecilia von Sidney Harold Meteyard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 59.750,00 (€ 85.950,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Saint Cecilia das teuerste Kunstwerk von Sidney Harold Meteyard, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
