It achieved a price of GBP 1,198,500.00 (€ 1,405,489.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Munnings - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gypsies Arriving at Epsom, which sold at auction in December 2000 for USD 3,031,000.00 (€ 3,228,589.69).

Die Arbeit The Coming Storm von Alfred Munnings kam im Juli 2021 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.198.500,00 (€ 1.405.489,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Munnings mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gypsies Arriving at Epsom beobachtet, die im Dezember 2000 für USD 3.031.000,00 (€ 3.228.589,69) versteigert wurde.
