Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art, which included the work A study for Sir Ewain in the Holy Grail Tapestries by Edward Burne-Jones. It changed hands for a price of GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,284.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Burne-Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Love among the Ruins in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 14,845,875.00 (€ 16,963,999.76).
