A folio of political caricatures, 1860s to 1901
Including various sketches and lithographs, one inscribed in the artist's hand 'Original drawing - sketch of Mr. Norman Wilkinson', another 'Original sketch of Mr Rudge - a heavy swell on the ocean';
Together with two letters in the artists hand, one dated 10 July 1901, mentioning subjects drawn in the 1860s, including Lord Derby and John Russell; the letters and folio addressed to The Rev. W.B. Tracey Esq.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Francis Carruthers Gould could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Roger Warner Collection - Part I auction, the work A Folio of political Caricatures, 1860s to 1901 changed hands for GBP 187.50 (€ 211.06) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Carruthers Gould - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work He Returns To Town, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 625.00 (€ 711.60).
