Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head of a young girl (Rose Grimsdale) by George Clausen was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 347,250.00 (€ 387,330.92) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Clausen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gleaners, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 710,850.00 (€ 1,022,553.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Head of a young girl (Rose Grimsdale) von George Clausen kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 347.250,00 (€ 387.330,92) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Clausen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gleaners beobachtet, die im November 2004 für GBP 710.850,00 (€ 1.022.553,89) versteigert wurde.
