Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ornaments by Herbert James Gunn was sold in the British Impressionism auction at Christies in London in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,934.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herbert James Gunn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grand Bassin, Le Jardin Des Tuileries, Paris in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 65,725.00 (€ 94,545.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ornaments von Herbert James Gunn wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion British Impressionism bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.934,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herbert James Gunn erzielen.
