Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Drummer Boy by John Gilbert for GBP 625.00 (€ 656.43). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John Gilbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The marriage of Katherine and Petruchio: The Taming of the Shrew in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,159.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Drummer Boy von John Gilbert für GBP 625,00 (€ 656,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Gilbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The marriage of Katherine and Petruchio: The Taming of the Shrew im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.159,49).
