The work Lines In Color by Sol LeWitt was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in December 2010. The auction ended at the price of EUR 15,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Lines In Color von Sol LeWitt kam im Dezember 2010 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 15.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
