Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Working Drawing for Wall Drawing #260 (Musée d'Art Contemporain, Montreal) by Sol LeWitt. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,873.65). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Working Drawing for Wall Drawing #260 (Musée d'Art Contemporain, Montreal) von Sol LeWitt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.873,65) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
