Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Stella Gran Cairo by Elaine Sturtevant was sold in the 20th Century and Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Phillips in New York in July 2020. Here, the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 620,000.00 (€ 526,584.00). Admittedly, works by Elaine Sturtevant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Warhol Diptych in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Stella Gran Cairo von Elaine Sturtevant wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion 20th Century and Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 620.000,00 (€ 526.584,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Warhol Diptych im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83).
