Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seated nude reading by Sydney Harpley was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,705.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sydney Harpley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Summer's Day in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 30,125.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seated nude reading von Sydney Harpley kam im Juli 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.705,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sydney Harpley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Summer's Day im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 30.125,36).
