Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2003 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work Starlight by Talbot Hughes. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,004.04), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Talbot Hughes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sewing for victory in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 19,975.00 (€ 31,281.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Starlight von Talbot Hughes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.182,50 (€ 6.004,04) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Talbot Hughes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sewing for victory im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.975,00 (€ 31.281,12).
