Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a bride and groom dancing, small full-length by The Monogrammist I.W. was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 82,345.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by The Monogrammist I.W. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lucretia in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 389,000.00 (€ 551,471.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a bride and groom dancing, small full-length von The Monogrammist I.W. kam im Juli 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 82.345,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von The Monogrammist I.W. auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lucretia im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 389.000,00 (€ 551.471,35).
