Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR, which included the work Lord Henry John Montague-Douglas-Scott, M.P. Politician by Théobald Chartran. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,438.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Théobald Chartran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French The Chibouk Smoker in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 290,500.00 (€ 229,064.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lord Henry John Montague-Douglas-Scott, M.P. Politician von Théobald Chartran zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.438,43) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Théobald Chartran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit French The Chibouk Smoker im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 290.500,00 (€ 229.064,82).
