Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Salammbô chez Matho (Matho kneeling before Salammbo) by Théodore Rivière was sold in the Collection Jacques Ginepro, Une Vie de Sculptures auction at Sothebys in Paris in May last year. It changed hands for a price of EUR 5,670.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Théodore Rivière have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French Désenchantée in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 38,900.00 (€ 49,482.50).

Die Arbeit Salammbô chez Matho (Matho kneeling before Salammbo) von Théodore Rivière wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Collection Jacques Ginepro, Une Vie de Sculptures bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 5.670,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Théodore Rivière auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit French Désenchantée im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.900,00 (€ 49.482,50).
