In May 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Seascape by Thomas Alexander Harrison for USD 23,900.00 (€ 20,312.77). This price was achieved in the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Seascape is the most expensive artwork by Thomas Alexander Harrison that we have observed at auction so far.
