Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Evening near Pozzuoli, Bay of Naples; and Near Brünig, Switzerland by Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,746.95) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Veduta di Benares, 1872 in November 2002 with an auction result of EUR 17,360.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Evening near Pozzuoli, Bay of Naples; and Near Brünig, Switzerland von Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.746,95) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Veduta di Benares, 1872 im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 17.360,00.
