Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Farmhouse with Hills and Trees: A Double-Sided Work by Thomas Hart Benton was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,480.00 (€ 4,133.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hart Benton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nashaquitsa in November last year with an auction result of USD 5,580,000.00 (€ 5,405,405.41).
