Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Heaphy could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The gamblers changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,021.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by Thomas Heaphy have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2007 by the work Portrait of Miss Godfrey, Full-Length, Seated With Her Dog at GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,383.41).
