Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A View Down The River Avon, Near Bristol, With Anchored Shipping In The Distance by Thomas Hearne was sold in the The Sunday Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,500.00 (€ 6,114.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Hearne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegant figures rowing on the the River Wear before Lumley Castle, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 12,925.00 (€ 21,669.06).

Die Arbeit A View Down The River Avon, Near Bristol, With Anchored Shipping In The Distance von Thomas Hearne wurde im Dezember 2007 in der Auktion The Sunday Sale bei Christies in London versteigert.
