Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Pass of Glencoe, Scotland by Thomas Moran was auctioned at Christies in New York in January last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,148.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Green River of Wyoming in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 17,737,000.00 (€ 11,399,100.26).
