This artwork by Thomas Webster achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2008. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Roses, parrot tulips, plums, pumpkins, and butterflies in a landscape sold for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,905.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Webster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maternal Affection in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 14,100.00 (€ 23,422.91).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Webster erzielte im Juli 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Roses, parrot tulips, plums, pumpkins, and butterflies in a landscape für GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.905,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Webster erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Maternal Affection im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.100,00 (€ 23.422,91).
