Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Yuki (Snow) by Torii Kotondo for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,592.49). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese and Korean Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Torii Kotondo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kamisuki (Combing the hair) in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 72,500.00 (€ 64,570.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Yuki (Snow) von Torii Kotondo für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.592,49) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Torii Kotondo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kamisuki (Combing the hair) im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.500,00 (€ 64.570,72).
