The work Mount Fuji by Tosa Mitsusada was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2009. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,734.11) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tosa Mitsusada have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scenes from The Tale of Genji in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,428.09).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Mount Fuji von Tosa Mitsusada wurde im September 2009 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.734,11) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tosa Mitsusada auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scenes from The Tale of Genji im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 12.428,09).
