Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September last year. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Fuzoku sanjuniso (Thirty-two aspects of customs and manners) sold for USD 32,760.00 (€ 33,486.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tsuki junidai (Twelve aspects of the moon) in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 241,000.00 (€ 169,491.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tsukioka Yoshitoshi erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wurde die Arbeit Fuzoku sanjuniso (Thirty-two aspects of customs and manners) für USD 32.760,00 (€ 33.486,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tsukioka Yoshitoshi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tsuki junidai (Twelve aspects of the moon) im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 241.000,00 (€ 169.491,53).
