Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fireworks at Ryogoku (Ryogoku hanabi) by Utagawa Hiroshige was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,508.75) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi (The fifty-three stations of the Tokaido) in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 207,500.00 (€ 210,041.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fireworks at Ryogoku (Ryogoku hanabi) von Utagawa Hiroshige kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.508,75) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Hiroshige erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi (The fifty-three stations of the Tokaido) im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 207.500,00 (€ 210.041,50).
