Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Fine Japanese Prints, which included the work Suwa Bluff, Nippori (Nippori, Suwanodai) by Utagawa Hiroshige. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,134.00 (€ 1,352.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi (The fifty-three stations of the Tokaido) in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 207,500.00 (€ 210,041.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Fine Japanese Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Suwa Bluff, Nippori (Nippori, Suwanodai) von Utagawa Hiroshige zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.134,00 (€ 1.352,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Hiroshige erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi (The fifty-three stations of the Tokaido) im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 207.500,00 (€ 210.041,50).
