The work Boy's day decoration with Danjuro as The Demon Queller Shoki by Utagawa Kuniyoshi was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art Including the Collection of David and Nayda Utterberg auction at Christies in New York in March last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 60,480.00 (€ 54,520.87), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Utagawa Kuniyoshi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,848.90).

Die Arbeit Boy's day decoration with Danjuro as The Demon Queller Shoki von Utagawa Kuniyoshi wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art Including the Collection of David and Nayda Utterberg bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 54.520,87) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Utagawa Kuniyoshi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 200.000,00 (€ 234.848,90).
