In September 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese & Korean Art Including Arts of the Meiji Period, which included the work Ushiwakamaru (Yoshitsune), with the help of the tengu, fights Benkei on Gojo Bridge by Utagawa Kuniyoshi. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,676.20), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Kuniyoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,848.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im September 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese & Korean Art Including Arts of the Meiji Period durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ushiwakamaru (Yoshitsune), with the help of the tengu, fights Benkei on Gojo Bridge von Utagawa Kuniyoshi zur Versteigerung kam.
