Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art & Design, which included the work Amerikashu Kariforunia-ko shuppan no zu A ship sailing from a port in California, an American State by Utagawa Sadahide. The price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,091.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Utagawa Sadahide have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 17,925.00 (€ 18,144.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art & Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Amerikashu Kariforunia-ko shuppan no zu A ship sailing from a port in California, an American State von Utagawa Sadahide zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.151,00 (€ 3.091,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Utagawa Sadahide auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Yokohama koeki seiyojin kamotsu unso no zu (A view of Western traders transporting merchandise at Yokohama) im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.925,00 (€ 18.144,55).
