Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Santa Caterina by Valerio Castello was auctioned at Il Ponte in April 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,600.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Valerio Castello achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Family With The Infant St John The Baptist in July 2009 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 192,048.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Santa Caterina von Valerio Castello im April 2018 bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.600,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.500,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Valerio Castello erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Family With The Infant St John The Baptist im Juli 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 192.048,02).
